Goodness,
We were warned by John Plymale (and probably already knew) that it's always the packaging artwork that holds up the record's release. I took that as a challenge, and am pleased to report that the packaging is 2/3rds DONE! I would love to show it to you, but it really would ruin it. You know that moment, when you get a new album, and get to just look at it for the first time. I love that moment. Especially when the music is made even sweeter by the imagery you're scrutinizing. But I'm gonna tease you a bit by saying that everyone here in the Wstop camp is pretty freakin excited about it. We just have one big family photoshoot to do, which has been very hard to schedule, considering there will be at least 17 and maybe as many as 28 people involved the shoot.
It's amazing how difficult it is to get that many people together in one place at one time in this day and age. It's always something isn't it. BUT this photo we're trying to get is not the cover of the album, so if worst comes to worst, we'll just take a picture of whoever can make it and be done with it. Otherwise it's just about finished.
I just realized how this post might be very unrewarding, in that it's all about a visual element that you are not being allowed to view. I apologize for this. I just felt compelled to let you know how excited I am that it's as finished as it is.
You won't have to wait long. We are looking at early May for the big release! It's almost March. Hey, it's my beautiful Eileen's birthday today! Feb 28. And my brother's and Rob's mother's is tomorrow! The elusive Feb 29th. LEAP!
